Gabby has something to say
It was a cold morning so I decided to get some extra writing done. I was working on a scene in the second book of the Caddy Cat Cafe series. I was writing dialogue that included Gabby. It was a sweet conversation between Kit and her.
Gabby moved in over my shoulder staring at the computer. I could feel her breath on my face. I could smell tuna too.
She pressed her paw down hard on my shoulder to balance as she leaned in.
“I would never say that, ” Gabby said.
“What is wrong with the word lovely?” I asked.
“It sucks.” She paused for a moment then continued on. “I would say ‘dumb’ or ‘stupid’ but not lovely.”
“I can’t say ‘dumb’ in this scene. it would be mean and make no sense.
How about ‘nice’, will that work?”
“But it’s not nice, it’s dumb.”
It was my time to pause as she adjusted her paws. “How about this,” I pointed to the keyboard. …
Gabby rolled her eyes. “lovely.”
“That works. Now we need to work on that word.”
“What word?”
She points her paw at the keyboard. “That one.”
“We are not getting rid of a cat’s name.”
“No, not the name, get rid of the cat.”
Gabby!”
She looked at me. “What? That is not a cat, it follows everyone around like a dog. He shouldn’t be living here among us cats. Soon he’ll be asking for a bone?”
I buckled in. I knew this would go on for hours. Help me.
CJ & Gabby
PS She wants Gabby & Cheryl instead. What do you think?
Gabby would like to know if you have you seen the cover reveal for Caturday Knife Special.
“CJ shared the cover yesterday, I wasn’t invited. Why? I dunno, I think she didn’t want me taking the spotlight. The cover is OK, some dude put my face on the front of it, it’s not bad.
It looks a little like me, but I am much cuter.”
